Happy New Year, I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year
All the horses have now been back in work since mid December, and are starting to look like event horses again after a clip and a bit beautifying from supergroom Ray! They all had 8 weeks off over October and November and did walk work until mid January. Flo continued her education in the autumn and had a few weeks off over Christmas. I was lucky enough to manage to fit in a week skiing in Val Thorens with friends during the first week of January, which was amazing!
At Uni all my first semester essays and exams are now done, and I start the second semester on the 1st February, squeezing in lectures; riding; essays and eventing between now and June stops me getting bored!
Nankin des Ruettes (Nonks), Charles RR (Charlie), Torres (Lawa) and Flo (Miserden Ravello) are all booked into various pre-season training days and a couple of competitions. Nonks is going to the JAS at Hartpury on the 14th February, Charlie has a few lessons booked in with NickBurton to practice his flying changes in preparation for his step up to 3*, Flo will be going to West Wilts and Aston le Walls for some dressage and jumping practice, and Torres has his first coupleof World Class Equine Pathway days.
This year I am extremely grateful once again to Bath Uni for providing me with a Sports Scholarship. I have used my first instalment to book Nonk and Charlie into a two day Bridging the Gap camp at the end of February. I also have the last couple of Uni riding competitions; fingers crossed we can qualify for the regionals!
The first few events are now planned; Flo will be starting at Tweseldown and the others head to Gatcombe. I Cant wait to get back out on a cross country course!
Thanks again to Tim Wilkinson, for the great photos from his visit at the beginning of December.
