Event Update: Burnham Market International

Last weekend saw us truck fives to Norfolk for the Barefoot Estates Burnham Market International with three on board.  NANKIN DES RUETTES and LAWA were entered in the CIC2* and CHARLES RR was entered in his debut at CIC3* which was also the first leg of Shearwater Tri-Star Grand Slam.

CHARLES RR:  Unfortunately enthusiasm got the better of Charlie all weekend!  Dressage was.. Err… Bouncy and Zoomy!  Showjumping was.. Err… Bouncier and Zoomyer but only rolled one of the coloured poles!  XC he loves and was popping round making everything feel very very easy in a lovely rhythm; however unfortunately two-thirds of the way round we caught a leg on the tricky double corners (fence 15) and both came out the side door.  We’re absolutely fine and he was so desperately unlucky.  Lots to take away that was very good and hopefully a couple more outings will settle him.  I’ve never known a horse love his job so much, but in his keeness to please his endless power just gets the better of him sometimes!

NANKIN DES RUETTES did a beautiful test and awesome jumping rounds at Burnham CIC**!  Unfortunately one cheeky old french ginger moment XC gave up a top10 placing… After 7 seasons he still teaches me so much.. But luckily I love him more than anything!

LAWA doing a lovely test and an even better double clear round his second 2* at Burnham Market International! What an AWESOME black pony.
