Pre-season preparations

What a great week getting all the horses out for their first training sessions away from home since October last year!

Firstly I would like to thank super grooms, Ray, Mum, Holly and Barbara, aswell as liveries Vicky, Pete and Anna for being so amazing when Tom’s new horse arrived with strangles.  The amazing effort from everyone meant none of the other 12 horses on the yard got ill which is a huge achievement in itself!  Putting a new horse into isolation when they arrive is REALLY, REALLY worthwhile!!!  The horse has thankfully made a full recovery and has had his three clear swabs.  Another huge thank you also has to go to our Vet Liz Brown for all her help and advice!

Wednesday:  I took LAWA, NANKIN DES RUETTES, CHARLES RR and MISERDEN RAVELLO to the World Class Equine Pathway training.  They were all on awesome form with Phillip Surl, Peter Murphy and Angela Tucker despite being a little on the bouncy/wild/super happy side!!

Thursday: The best Nutritionalist (not that I’m biased) Lorna Edgar from Baileys Horse Feeds came to review the horses diets ahead of the season.  As always we learnt lots and Nonks is back at fat fighters!

Friday: CHARLIE RR and I had a BRILLIANT dressage session with Nick Burton.  We even managed some changes, Waahoooooo!!

Sunday: to finish the week NANKIN DES RUETTES came 2nd in the JAS Open at Hartpury!

To top it all off… Uni Riding ‪#‎teambath‬ 1sts won our very competitive League and have qualified for Regionals!

Next week all the horses have jumping lessons with Rhian Jones and a visit from our Physio Kerry Clampton.

The new season is nearly here and it’s beginning to get exciting again!!!
